Hidden Lesion of the Subscapularis
In this article, we demonstrate a technique to identify injuries to the front rotator cuff tendon that can often become overlooked.
Identifying the injury pattern to the rotator cuff is crucial in obtaining a good outcome after surgery. Because of the native anatomy of the shoulder, injuries to the subscapularis can be missed. If a patient has weakness with testing of the subscapularis on exam, this technique allows for complete visualization of the tendon attachment and reduces the chance of missing an injury to this important component of the rotator cuff
